TM 55-1560-307-13&PAPPENDIX BMAINTENANCE ALLOCATION CHARTSection I. INTRODUCTIONB-1. MAINTENANCE ALLOCATION CHART.a. This Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) assignsmaintenance functions in accordance with the ThreeLevels of Maintenance concept for Army Aviation. Thesemaintenance levels (categories) Aviation UnitMaintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance(AVIM), and Depot Maintenance are depicted on the MACas:AVUM, which corresponds to an 0 Code in the RepairParts and Special Tools List (RPSTL)AVIM, which corresponds to an F Code in the RepairParts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) DEPOT, whichcorresponds to a D Code in the Repair Parts and SpecialTools List (RPSTL)b. The maintenance to be performed below depotand in the field is described as follows:(1) AVUM activities will be staffed andequipped to perform high frequency"On-Aircraft"maintenance tasks required to retain or return aircraftsystems to a serviceable condition. The maintenancecapability of the AVUM will be governed by the MAC andlimited by the amount and complexity of ground supportequipment (GSE), facilities required, authorized manningstrength, and critical skills available. The range andquantity of authorized spare modules/components will beconsistent with the mobility requirements dictated by theair mobility concept. (Assignments of maintenance tasksto divisional company size aviation units will consider theoverall maintenance capability of the division, therequirement to conserve personnel and equipmentresources, and air mobility requirements.)(a) Company size aviation units. Performthose tasks which consist primarily of preventivemaintenance and maintenance repair and replacementfunctions associated with sustaining a high level of aircraftoperational readiness. Perform maintenance inspectionsand servicing to include preflight, daily, intermediate, periodic (or phased), and special inspections asauthorized by the MAC or higher headquarters. Identifythe cause of equipment/system malfunctions usingapplicable technical manual troubleshooting instructions,built-in test equipment (BITE), installed aircraftinstruments, or test, measurement, and diagnosticequipment (TMDE). Replace worn or damagedmodules/components that do not require complexadjustments or system alinement and which can beremoved/installed with available skills, tools, and groundsupport equipment. Perform operational and continuitychecks and make minor repairs to the electrical system.Inspect, service and make operational, capacity, andpressure checks to hydraulic systems. Perform servicing, functional adjustments, and minor repair/replacement tothe flight control, propulsion, power train, and fuelsystems. Accomplish air frame repair that does notrequire extensive disassembly, jigging, or alinement. Themanufacture of air frame parts will be limited to thoseitems which can be fabricated with tools and equipmentfound in current air mobile tool and shop sets. Evacuateunserviceable modules/components and end itemsbeyond the repair capability of AVUM to the supportingAVIM.B-1
