TM 1-1520-240-MTF4-55(3) With the MODE switch in UTM, theDISPLAY switch in GS/TK and theFLY-TO-DEST thumbwheel in position“0”, take off and observe that MEM andMAL lights are extinguished andground-speed (GS) and track angle(TK) are reasonable.(4) Set DISPLAY switch toDIST/BRG/TIME and FLY-TO-DESTthumbwheel to position “1”.(5) Fly over the initial checkpoint (CP-1) ona heading for the first destinationcheckpoint (CP-3). As CP-1 is flownover, depress, first the KYBD key thenthe ENTR key.(6) Set the FLY-TO-DEST thumbwheel toposition “3”.(7) Use the track angle error (TKE) display,DIST/BRG/TIME display, or anindependent NAV aid, to steer thehelicopter to the first (CP-3) destination.(8) As the first (CP-3) checkpoint islocated, change the helicopter headingas necessary to fly over the checkpoint.Set the DISPLAY switch to “PP” anddepress KYBD as the checkpoint isoverflown. Record the displayedpresent position coordinates or depressTGT STR.(9) For leg number 2, steer the helicopterand fly over checkpoint CP-3 on aheading for destination checkpointCP-4. Set the DISPLAY switch toDIST/BRG/TIME and as CP-3 is flownover, depress the KYBD key and thenENTR key.
