This repair parts and special tools list(RPSTL) lists and authorizes spares and repair parts;special tools; special test, measurement, and diagnosticequipment (TMDE); and other special support equipmentrequired for performance of AVUM and AVIMmaintenance of the Extended Range Fuel System. Itauthorizes the requisitioning, issue, and disposition ofspares, repair parts, and special tools as indicated bysource, maintenance, and recoverability (SMR) codes.C-2. GENERAL. In addition to Section I, Introduction,this repair parts and special tools list is divided into thefollowing sections:a. SectionIIRepairPartsList. A list of spares andrepair parts authorized by this RPSTL for use in theperformance of maintenance. The list also includes partswhich must be removed for replacement of the authorizedparts. Parts lists are composed of functional groups inascending alphanumeric sequence. Bulk materials arelisted by item name in Appendix C. Repair part kits arelisted separately in their own function group within SectionII. Repair parts for reparable special tools are also listedin this section.b. SectionIIISpecialToolsList. A list of specialtools, special TMDE, and other special support equipmentauthorized by this RPSTL for the performance ofmaintenance.c. SectionIVCross-ReferenceIndexes. A list, inNational Item Identification Number (NIIN) sequence, ofall National Stock Numbers (NSN) appearing in thelistings, followed by a separate list in alphanumericsequence of all part numbers appearing in the listings.National stock numbers and part numbers are cross-referenced to each illustration figure and item numberappearance. The figure and item number index listsfigure and item numbers in alphanumeric sequence andcross references NSN, CAGE, and part numbers.C-3. EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS (Sections II andIII).a. ITEMNO.Column. Indicates the number usedto identify items called out in the illustration.b. SMR-CODE Column. The Source, Maintenance,and Recoverability (SMR) code is a 5-position codecontaining supply/requisitioning information, maintenancecategory authorization criteria, and disposition instruction,as shown in the following breakout:(1) SourceCode. The source code tells youhow to get an item needed for maintenance, repair, oroverhaul of an end item/equipment. Explanations ofsource codes follows:XA - Do not requisition an "XA"-coded item. Order itsnext higher assembly. (Also, refer to the NOTE below.)XB - If an "XB" item is not available from salvage, order itusing the CAGE and part number given.XC - Installation drawing, diagram, instruction sheet, fieldservice drawing that is identified by manufacturer's partnumber.C-1
