SECTION II. INSPECTING AND SERVICING THE EQUIPMENT
2-4. Inspection. Inspect the system components as
follows:
a. Intervals. The Helicopter Internal Cargo
Handling System should be inspected prior to each cargo
mission or when any of the following events has or will
occur.
(1) A new cargo handling system has just
been installed.
(2) A cargo system has been removed from
storage and installed.
(3) A system has been idle in an out-of-
service aircraft.
(4)
Maintenance
has
recently
been
performed and the system has not been inspected.
(5) A system appears to function improperly.
b. Inspection Criteria. A general inspection should
be accomplished for any one of the reasons indicated in
paragraph 2-4a. Inspect regularly to maintain the
Helicopter Internal Cargo Handling System in good
working condition. Make certain that all components
shown in the table are accounted for in either the installed
or stowed locations as applicable. (Refer to Table 2-1.)
Then inspect the system against Figures 2-4 through 2-21
to make certain that all system components are properly
installed. Check outboard rail/roller assemblies (1
through 6, Figure 3-2), inboard guide/roller assemblies (9
through 12), inboard ramp/roller assemblies (13 and 14),
ramp guide rail/roller assemblies (7 and 8), and ramp
extension roller assembly (15) for cracks or breaks. No
cracks or breaks are allowed.
2-5. Service. No pre-installation service is required for
the Helicopter Internal Cargo Handling System.
SECTION III. INSTALLATION
2-6. Tools Required. Table 2-3 provides a list of
common tools required to install the Helicopter Internal
Cargo Handling System plus two special tools provided
with the system.
