Operate the winch to reel in the remaininglength of the cable. Check that the cargomode in-limit switch stops the winch when 3feet of the cable remain extended. If thewinch does not stop when the specifiedlength of cable is extended, adjust the cargomode in-limit switch or have it replaced.(Refer to TM 55-1520-240-23.)l. Place the shifting lever to RESCUE. Unplugthe cable cutter from the stowagereceptacle and connect it to the overheadreceptacle above the rescue hatch.NOTERESCUE operation mode is used to reduce reel-out time. Keep tension on the cable while it is reel-ing out.m. Operate the winch to reel out the cable.Continue to operate the winch until the cableis fully extended.n. Set the shifting lever to CARGO. Unplug thecable cutter from the overhead receptacleand connect it to the stowage receptacle.o. Attach a 3,100 to 3,300-pound load to thewinch cable.
