Set rivet.(4)If diameter of cutout is larger than 3/16inch, make a circular backing plate from same materialas web, in next heavier thickness.NOTEThe backing plate must be largeenough to cover cutout and overlapweb a minimum of four timesdiameter of rivet. If backing platecannot be circular, all comers musthave a minimum radius of 1/4 inch.(5)Smooth edges of backing plate with a file.(6)Center backing plate over cutout. Drill arivet pattern having a pitch of 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Thenumber of rivet holes will be determined by size ofbacking plate. Maintain a pattern that will allow aminimum edge distance of two-times diameter of rivet.Use rivets MS20470AD4, for webs not thicker than0.025 inch.
