Set PITOT switch (3) to ON.Hold hand close to left and right pitot tubes (4 and5) but do not touch them and feel for heat. Adhesive on tape willclog holes.7 Cover holes in static ports (12). Use bar-rier material (E67). Secure material withmasking tape (E337). Cap the right andleft pitot masts (4 and 5). Seal drainholes in each pitot mast using barriermaterial and masking tape.8. At NO. 1 AFCS computer, disconnectpitot and static tubing compressionsleeve fittings anp connect pitot andstatic lines to tester (13).9. At NO. 2 AFCS computer, disconnectpitot and static tubing compressionsleeve fittings anp connect linest o g e t h e r.Do not apply pressure to staticline. Damage to altimeters canresult.10. Adjust vacuum at a rate less than 3,000Tester (13) altimeter reading shall not decreasefeet per minute until tester (13) altimetermore than 2,000 feet in 5 minutes. If it does, go toreads 20,000 feet. Shut off vacuumtask 8-1.12.pressure.N O TEAltimeter reading must be correctedfor tester leak rate. Refer to TM 55-49 2 0 - 2 3 1 - 1 4.11. Disconnect tester (13).
